Delt note

Nekrolog
Robert was born August 21, 1926 to Peter and Kathryn Christensen in the same Meadowbrook Road farmhouse in which he grew up and lived his entire life. He farmed both his own acreage and rented land from time to time, but also spent time pursuing various business opportunities, such as the acquisition, refurbishing and sale of non-motorized farm implements to a loyal customer base in locations such as Nappanee, Indiana.

Bob appreciated the help of many area residents who helped him to continue to live independently in later years.

Longtime rural Eau Claire, Michigan resident Robert P. Christensen, 81, died Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2007 at the Orchard Grove Extended Care Centre in Benton Township, Michigan, where he had been recovering from a recent illness.

Memorial services will be held at 4pm Saturday afternoon, Dec. 8, at Bowerman Funeral Home, Eau Claire. Interment will be in Pearl Grange Cemetery.

His parents and a former wife, Ann Basich Christensen; one stepdaughter, Joan Lynn Miskatovic Reed (4-8-1944 - 15-8-1989), and a step-grandson, Ryan Thomas Reed (19-11-1971 - 13-12-1986) preceded him in death.

Left to cherish his memory are a stepson, Thomas Miskatovic of Benton Harbor; a stepson-in-law, Steven Alan Reed of St. Joseph, and a step-grandson, Robert Alan Reed of Novi, Michigan.
Memorials in his name may be made to Lakeland Hospital or Hospice at Home in lieu of flowers.
