Married to Arthur B. Alden (1871-1920). News-Palladium (Benton Harbor, MI) 28 Jun 1966: Mrs. Amanda Carolyn Alden, 96, of 353 Empire Ave., Benton Harbor, died Monday morning at 10:30 a.m. in the Pitcher's Convalescent Home where she had been a patient for seven months. Mrs. Alden was born May 23, 1870, in St. Joseph. Survivors include two sons, Victor at home and George of Salem, Ore.; two daughters, Mrs. Alfred (Mabel) Watts of St. Joseph and Mrs. Harry (Mary) Alexander of Dallas, Tex.; one sister, Mrs. Catherine Christensen of Eau Claire; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Her husband, Arthur, and a son, John, preceded her in death. She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church and St. John's Altar society. Requiem high mass will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. in St. John's Catholic church in Benton Harbor. The Rt. Rev. Msgr. Joseph R. Byrne, pastor, will serve as celebrant. The Rosary will be recited Wednesday at 8 p.m. in the Reiser mortuary.
