Former Sheridan resident Marjorie May Reid, 87, of Billings died Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2009. Funeral services are 11 a.m. Monday at Cremation & Funeral Gallery in Billings. Interment will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in Sheridan Municipal Cemetery next to her husband. Born May 20, 1921, in Vernal, Utah, to Eric A. Cramer and Thine Magdalene Nielson, she spent her grade school years on the family's farm near Vernal and on her Uncle Ray Reader's Sunshine Ranch in Jensen, Utah.
During high school she moved with her family from Utah to the Big Horn Basin, where her father worked for Marathon Oil Co. She was a cheerleader for Greybull High School, a soda jerk at the local drug store, and an attendant in the movie theater, where she watched her favorite movie, "Gone With the Wind."

She loved to dance to the big-band music of her era. During the Depression, she left school to work to help support her family. After a year, she returned home and graduated from high school in 1940. She married Cline Thomas "CT" Reid. They made their home in Sheridan for many years. They enjoyed mountain camp-outs with their friends and traveled across the country. Mrs. Reid enjoyed spending time with her family, especially playing croquet and Uno with her great-grandchildren. She lived for several years at Magnolia Place in Billings, where she enjoyed the company of her "sorority sisters" and caretakers.

She was preceded in death by her husband; an infant brother, Keith; and her eldest brother, Orin Cramer of Idaho. Survivors include a daughter, Rita Pumphrey of Billings; a sister, Kathleen Shores of Greybull; a brother, Darwin Cramer of Powell; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
